ADVENTURES OF A FISHERMAN
by Angel and the
Fisherman
(c) 1999
1
Through storms of summer he does sail
through thundershowers and through hail.
Where the seas meet the skies,
this sailor searches for the dove that flies.
His courage only a thin mask in disguise
it is time for him to become humble and wise.
To turn the course that he is on,
into the one that love can look upon.
It is never to late to start anew,
to sail away from feeling blue.
The Sailor wonders if the world he sails,
is round or flat across those mighty gales.
2
As night falls on his vessel like a shark
the angels fly over him in the dark.
But the sailor in the nightly sea,
can not see the angels flying free.
His pride made him blind as a bat
and that is the sad truth in that.
Thus on his boat in the blinding night,
he opened up a bottle of wine with delight.
A posion of a thought-taking drink,
ruining the mind and not letting him think.
Faster than a shark ready for attack,
the sailor guzzled the wine then all went black.
3
The next day the sailor in pain he awoke,
remembering how his heart still is broke.
How lonely is the soul of a seafaring man,
who only has a bottle of fish wine as his #1
fan.
But only himself he has got to blame,
for love is never a football game.
The October sun danced across the ocean,
as the sailor swayed full of lingering fish
wine potion.
Soon Winter will knock on the door everywhere
and the sailor has no one his cot he could share.
How pathetic his life has finally become,
but realistically thinking he can not blame
it all on rum.
4
The time has come for the man to face the
truth,
for the days and years are taking its toll on
his youth.
Therefore the sailor looked in the mirror
with fear,
but the answers in life are not always
sharply clear.
A blind man could see what the sailor does
not.
What will he do? Will he get off his
you-know-what?
How complicated his life on the free flowing
sea,
has become but then maybe ignorance is the
key.
Then again it may not be what he needs to do,
for only angels could help him with a clue.
But the angels
were no where to be found,
on the ocean the sailor could hear not a
sound.
5
Poor sailor drifting on the ocean big and
blue,
looking for love is all he wants to do.
A seahorse then appeared with a note,
"Love only sinks you"; it said,
"Love doesn't float."
But
that seahorse was from the deepest core.
of the ocean where it practices evil lore.
Never- the- less the sailor did believe,
that love out there he just can not
achieve.
But little does he know how love can cure
all pain and loneliness he now does endure.
Right now he is deaf, blind and dumb,
and does not realize love is more than a
crumb.
6
But once when the sailor was free
he felt love in his heart like it should
be.
But it seems that those love days have set,
and the sailor man forgotten the lovers he
met.
If he only would look deep in his heart
and then
he would find the angels will help him
again.
Waters so extremely deep on this adventure,
because love is not on the menu to
venture.
The more he resists, the more he wants.
This will be perhaps the last chance.
In earth tones the master of the ship,
looked to heaven praying his soul to
grip.
7
Down from the celestial sky that night,
a dream was granted to the sailor's
plight.
In the dream state he dreamed a dream,
where he saw an angel that began to
scream!
" Why don't you come to senses friend
so dear,
for sitting on a pity-pot is really
queer."
"Queer?" questioned the sailor
to the aspiration;
"I am not a sock-man!" he
retorted with determination.
The Angel replied with glee: " Then
give it a chance,
because you know you are due for
romance."
The sailor with delight stood proudly and
tall,
the ice around his heart melted becoming
small.
8
Finally, in a
long time he smiled at last,
for feeling blue
and lonely was now in the past.
Thinking intently
of what he should do,
how to find a
date soon he had not a clue.
The night of the
witches soon will be here
and the sailor
will need a date and a beer.
A diamond in the
rough is what he needs,
to beat the evil
on which loneliness feeds.
So off he went in
his mighty vessel to sail
in search of a
gem is how it goes this tale.
Of course the fog
set in to blind his way,
will he find
someone before all Hallow Eve's day?
9
The moon shines
down on our friend,
tonight it lends
its guiding hand.
The boat docked
on old familiar shores,
alone the sailor
went to party looking for whores.
How sad he has to
go down so low,
when love is
right there, and he doesn't know.
Love of friends
always there is good,
to party with
them he has always understood.
Happiness is
never found in a place like that,
all you get is
some drunken useless chat.
From that scene
the sailor sailed again,
spying quickly a
new dock and a stranger then.
10
Land of Israel of
true people many,
wishes of love
with every spent penny.
To the Olive
Garden the sailor was taken,
wondering if
there was a spark to awaken.
Time will tell if
this was meant to be,
so for now he
will dream with his mermaid at sea.
Not certain if
this was a witch's trick or treat,
the sailor
prepared for another party to beat.
A true test of a
sailor's heart will come,
can he endure the whispers of a witch's hum?
Indian Summer
crisps twisting the air,
while the
sailor's dream of Israel fades with despair.
11
Signs from Heaven
reveal themselves,
as the sailor
browses through bookshelves.
A message given
to him defines the source,
but angels
watching have set the course.
Now he must look
and listen as well,
because destiny
has a great story to tell.
It is the day
of all Hallow's Eve
cursed is what
the sailor's memory can't retrieve.
He settles for
the night and falls asleep,
so he does not
have tears to fall or weep.
A dream to dream
in slumber desire,
is what he needs
to spark his fire.
12
A new month now
starts with new hope,
and with luck the
sailor will learn to cope.
All Saints and
All Souls are praying for him,
that he finds his
true love by a graceful whim.
A new month and
soon a new year,
then happiness
will bring him good cheer.
This new month
declares itself "Time for
Thanks",
as the year
begins to walk the planks.
Thanks for
laughter, thanks for cries,
thanks for hellos
and thanks for goodbyes.
Thanks for joy,
thanks for loneliness' pain,
all of these
things are not a lesson taken in vain.
13
Angels will
descend from the sky
bringing new hope
of everlasting joy.
The sailor
continues to sail at sea,
watching the
Dolphins carelessly free.
The sea is his
home and also his jail,
leaving true love
to drown and to fail.
The salt of the
sea comes from his eye,
for his tears is
what makes the tides so high.
But in the storm
of forever loneliness so sad
he has no chance
to conquer love, and that's bad.
Angels
surrounding this ocean with great
strength,
prepare to battle
the devil's loneliness to great length.
14
Fear is the
biggest setback he has,
once he lets go,
loneliness will pass.
But why is there
this wall of fear,
standing so tall
and thickly unclear?
The wall was
built by the man himself,
for too long he
put his own life on a shelf.
The world becomes
a much bigger place,
as the sailor
sails into himself to embrace.
Some changes are
needed, step by step,
to get out of his man made trap.
To oceans old and
to oceans new,
the sailor sets
forth to sail out of the blue.
15
What will bring
this new part to our hero,
will he discover
love in weather below zero?
The winds turn
the direction on the sails
this time to
Stockertown the sailor trails.
Gusts of doubts
hang over his vessel tall,
and the rain
begins heavenly to fall.
Seasons changing
the world once over,
and sickness
overcomes the sailor's rover.
The waves keep
crashing over him,
but he fights and
knows how to swim.
His lips are lost
to the ocean flair,
drying up in its briskly wind of salty air.
16
The night begins
to fall once more,
and the sailor
sails away from shore.
Stockertown
turned out just to be,
another losing
harbor in his loveless sea.
As the full moon
brightens the sea all around,
the ocean rests
with a soothing sound.
The Sailor man too
takes a small rest,
on his trip where
finding love is his quest.
He has much to be
thankful for
even if it looks
like he lost once more.
The dawn of
Thanksgiving then lights the day,
and the sailor man sits to ponder the sky's so gray.
17
The sea so calm
yet full of strange powers,
bringing nothing
but surprising rain showers.
On his yacht of
self inflicted sorrow and pain,
a stomach ache
from over eating is his only gain.
Instead he should
be feasting on his desires,
with love and
lust and endless fires.
The night of
stormy seas then passed on by,
and the sun did
dawn a new November sky.
On this new day
in the autumn morn'
the sailor 's
heart still felt hurtfully torn.
So he sent out a
message on the telephone wire,
but the only ones
who heard him was an Angel's choir.
18
The angels in
heaven are singing their song of joy
to get ready for
a new birth of a precious baby boy.
November's ending
brings chills to the roaming ocean,
brisking the
water's ripples in icy sea foaming motion.
And in the midst
of this chilly night,
a star shines
over the sailor, brilliantly bright.
The star of
Bethlehem so close and yet so far,
called to the Sailor man across the ocean's bar.
The light of hope
and peace on earth,
to wipe away his
loveless curse.
December starts
as the decade closes,
God only knows
what the next one poses.
19
A new cold season
and a new year of hope
will the sailor
take his chances? How will he cope?
The days of this
century leads the sailor to ponder,
not even thinking of what lies in the next
century's yonder.
But with faith anything will be achieved,
even love for a sailor will be reached.
The second candle the sailor then did lite,
on Emanuel's wreath the flames burned
bright.
With each day left
in this century,
the angels will
guide, for they are free.
Where will they
lead him? Where will he go?
In the realms of
uncertainty the waters he sailed did flow.
20
Each day he sails
and passes through,
new ports of
interests to wash away the blue ( s ).
An iceberg
suddenly appeared along the way,
on it was a
spirit that held the future's next play.
This spirit was
sent from above to help the sailor out,
so with the new
year he will recover from his love's drought.
But this spirit
did not come from the grand above,
it came out from
the 6th dimension of evil's glove.
Could it be
someone from his past gone by?
Now that would be
a shame, and could make you cry.
The Spirit in one
hand held a broken harp covered with thickets,
in the other
hand, the spirit held a handful of tickets!
21
As the sun went
down once again over the ocean,
the spirit opened
a bottle of some magical potion.
With this concoction of evil the spirit poured
it onto those
tickets in hand with sinister galore.
"Tickets I
have, yes you may be a winner.
Come one and all
and even the sinner" .
The sailor stood
strongly on his boat's stern,
ignoring the
devil even though his heart did yearn.
But his desires
were stronger than his will,
so he sipped the
potion and then became ill.
His insides
churned with a sickening sound,
on his
forehead skin a huge bump was found.
22
The sailor once
again off course he sailed,
for the meaning
of life has slipped and failed.
Sailing into the
same old familiar safe ocean,
reasons for life
were questioned by an angel's motion.
In circles life
has been spinning on earth and in space,
he was once
jealous as tears run down his face.
The Angel then
said to him"It is time to let it go",
and the Sailor
grasping his head replied; "Yes I know."
So he sighed and
then he prayed once more,
for in the
sailor's heart always lies the shore.
He prayed;
"Dear God, help the world in its time of need,
and in life and
love please allow me to succeed."
23
So in this beautiful
ocean of sorrow and life,
he silently
wished for the angels to bring him a wife.
The third week of
advent then takes its toll,
and the Sailor
just wondered what was his role.
Soon the season
of this holy event passes through
and he still searches
for answers and a clue.
He learns that on
the feast of St. Stephen,
being a martyr in
life does not make it distributed even.
With each journey
he takes on his mighty ship,
life will get
easier like from wine taking a sip.
Three days before
the century turns the calendar read,
into raging
oceans alone for New Year's he will tread.
24
Winds in the east
began to haul and roar,
as the new
century promised magical lore.
The clock then
rolled into a new day,
the new millennium drew near without delay.
The Sailor
prepares for a celebration with a friend,
as always he is
the martyr and lending a hand.
The boat now
fueled and ready to let go,
of the past
sailing into the world's millennium show.
Then in one
blast, the millennium begins anew,
washing away the
tears of the past and all of the blue.
Learning to
appreciate everything he has completed,
is how the Sailor
in 2000 will make the blues deleted.
25
A new start, a
new beginning, a new century,
feelings of hope
begin to set him free.
