A Pirate is not a Prince

She was drifting in the wide-open sea of her dreams,
only she knew where her ship was sailing to,
or did she forget again how to navigate
through the endless black sea of her inner-self?
It wouldn't be the first time,
it happened so many times before,
and I wonder if there is any ocean left to sail.
But she keeps on drifting raising the sails of her heart.
There are dangers out there in the sea
hasn't she learned the lessons of past battles
with dragons, sea monsters and pirates?
And just as predicted another pirate ship on the horizon
appears on the water of deep emotion.
She didn't even have time to change the course
and the pirate conquers her ship just like the others before
as if she was waiting for the disaster to happen
just one more time.
A damsel in distress, a role she knows so well
she should be nominated to win an award.
Oh but no, this one will be different
a sailor full of treasures on his ship
only to find out they are from the Titanic.
His ideas are as violent as the sea
but of course no surprise to us
we know what is out there in the ocean
just garbage thrown in by the careless peasants.
Yet, she still lets her heart be captured
by the pirate in her dreams of darkness
as the moon silhouettes the flag
of the enemy vessel bigger than hers.
One can only hope she will wake up
realizing that a pirate is a pirate
and not a prince charming,
although I'm not sure if they exist,
but there are enough pirates
still capturing ships unprotected on the sea
floating without a purpose.

Hope

Like weed...indestructible,
it is growing wherever it wants,
so tiny in between the asphalt cracks of the city.
Many times it was stepped on and crushed
without empathy.
But then in a short while
it comes back in a new place
Hope.

Tyrannosaurus Teacher

The first grade teacher looked powerful and tall
like a dinosaur with gnashing teeth.
We avoided making any sounds, because we knew
how he had punished us in the past,
by twisting our ears like the dial on a radio.
On the playground we were terrible, biting beasts.

SUGAR IS NOT THE ONLY THING SWEET

A moment in time
just a little fragment of eternity
yet as significant
as the birth of a child
is a day spend with you.
You turn sadness into
chocolate mousse
with raspberry sauce.

THE WHISPERS IN MY DREAMS

In a whisper your words,
so sweet and calming
are forever printed in
my mind as I think of you.
Your voice is truly charming,
as the messenger I longed
to have near me.
As soothing as a balming,
your tone sings me a lullaby,
and my heart is smiling.
I could never tire
of such sweet words,
as sweet as the angel
I 've come to known.
Like the melody of a great composer
you insure me, how
deep our dreams have grown.

MIDNIGHT MOON

Silvery bright
heaven delight
your mysteries
are a wonder
you reveal so much
without a touch
you make earth ponder.
A man is no different
as i see in his eyes
and then i understand
that love and life
go hand in hand
after each moon
the sun will rise.

Power

There lies within me such a force of power
No sun or moon or star could hope to reach.
My slightest thought sparks fourth a fiery shower
Far greater than any fagile mortal's speech.
And yet I have shadows of desolution
That threaten to grow, to diminish the flames,
So in humbleness I offer assimilation:
And together we can discover the farthest domains.

For you can become the channel, the base , the compassion,
Providing a wellspring for energies I consume,
Relinguishing yourself to my driving passion
Made mortal, yet allowing your mortal self to bloom,
For I will show you worlds: and once you understand,
Even pools of stars will whirl at your command.
